switch question... - 12.12.2010, 10:20 PM

i know the monster mambas sometimes have bad switches. I'm not sure if i can call this one "bad", but it won't turn off. when i switch it to off, it stays on. i have to unplug it for it to turn off. anyone ever seen this one?

A switch can fail open or shut. I'd just cut off an inch out of case and solder together.

I have one that does the same... right out of the box.

A nice sealed heavy duty metal toggle switch would be my choice. Properly mount it and run the wires nice and secure...

The key is to find a small switch with a relatively high current rating (~5A). These types typically have a more solid "snapping" action, so are less likely to self-actuate when landing jumps or whatever.

??? The one I linked to is a regular 2-position toggle... It happens to be double pole, but there is no center OFF position.

Edit-

This switch might work better anyways... It's less likely to turn off in a crash.
