sounds like you are both suggesting slightly lower KV than the 2650. and maybe a 5-6 cell pack though. which means something like a whole new system. which might be easier in the long run.

would it behoove me to just get a true 1/8th system? do you think that would be less trouble in the long run?
I recently had the issue with the latest firmware and the MM. You need to update to v 1.28, that is the last one before the upgrade to overvoltage protection. More info in my "weird MM issue" thread.

I would say the MMM/2650 combo would be the best option for 4s. I do not really think you need to go up to 6s, but if so you will want a 1600kv motor or so. That brings you back to a 1518 cc motor, or their 1800kv 1512. Or a neu, or used medusa aveox, etc.
