Listen man good luck with that. I thiink anyone with half a brain should move away from places like that and leave them to the people who are doing all of the damage, stealing, & hurting others. Let them kill each other off then the place can be bulldozed over and rebuilt for better housing. Sorry to hear that you have to deal with such a stressful situation. I know a lot of people are stuck these days because of upside down loans and just cannot sell their property to get out. Our country sure is in some pretty tough times. I hope it turns around soon.

Unfortunately, in the real world, that doesn't happen. What does happen is the "bad" people move to where the "good" people are so they can get more (and better) loot. Why steal trash from trash when you can get the good stuff? Franky, the justice system in this country is a joke; criminals have more rights than law-abiding citizens, and jail is simply a vacation resort where scum just learn to become more hardened. I'm anxiously waiting for the day everyone gets fed up and starts some kind of vigilante club - when that happens, I'm there! Someone breaks into your house; shoot 'em dead. If they mess with your property; shoot 'em dead. Someone kidnaps and/or does unspeakable acts to someone in your family; shoot'em dead. Do that enough times and the scum of the earth will get the picture and move on to easier prey. But no, in this country, heaven forbid we hurt a criminal's feelings...

It sounds like you and James are from the same family tree. no offense intended BG. I was laughing so hard about your retorts. It reminded me of Akmed the dead terrorist. "I KIEEEELL YOU, until you are dead" and that is worse. Love the sentiment BG. Thanks for the laugh.

Possibly, but then you get a civil lawsuit against you from the scum's family, which they are likely to win. Seriously.

MAYBE. It depends on the most resent laws where you live. That is the problem with the legal system like BG said. In some states if someone breaks into your home and he is unarmed and you shoot them you may be liable for their injuries.
That can include pain and suffering payments as well. it has been done in our courts within the last few years in either PA or NJ. Our own legal system has turned against us. Plus lets say you surprize them and they turn to run. If you shoot them it can be considered murder or manslaughter, because he was leaving and no longer a threat to your or your family. Self defense has been redifined in some states as to whether the perpatrator was a threat to your life or not. If a 13 year old kid comes at you and you shoot him without trying to disarm him you can be charged with a crime because he is a minor and you should as an adult be able to disarm him making him no longer a threat. So all of these landmark cases are making shooting someone a real legal battle.

Thats exactly what happened. We had like 3 or 4 guys all move into a rental in our neighborhood and thats when everything started. The owner of the house lost the house and the renters got kicked out. After they left everything has quieted down a bunch so I'm pretty sure it was them. I still wont leave my garage door open or my house unlocked, but its better.
For things to get any better, I would have to move out of state I think. We have something like 16 percent unemployment in Vegas, so I think that contributes to all this stuff and right now its worst than ever. Everyones house is also worth nothing now compared to what we paid for them. Paid 450k, worth 220k right now. My buddy got in a 280k, just had one sold for 65k. Its not pretty out here.

I like your way of thinking!
As for the whole civil lawsuit crap, if they are in your house they are fair game! Shoot to kill though, dead men don't tell stories, and make sure you don't shoot them in the back, that makes it look like they where trying to get away. If someone wants to sue me for shooting a burglar they can, cause at this point they ain't getting anything from me anyways, no house to lose.
After all that though I think this thread has went a little off topic as usual here at RC-M

Forget about the lawsuit business. If you shoot any person in your home and he is unarmed you stand a very good chance of being charged with murder or at least manslaughter. If they do not have a weapon of any kind they are not considered to be a threat to your life. This view has not made it into law in every state, but it has in quite a few already.
