Diff oil confusion - 08.02.2011, 08:53 AM

I made a similar post a while ago but didnt get much interest.

Im running a converted X1CR and I have been struggling to find a good diff oil setup for it

I tried 7-10-4 to start with which handled well in the corners but the front wheels would spin up alot on acceleration

I was then recommended to try 30-50-20 so i did and its awfull goes like a rocket in a straight line but the slightest touch of steering and its flipped over

So if i go back to my 7-10-4 setup, if i want to stop the front spinning up what should i change?
Or could any other 1/8 buggy leccy owners share their setups?

Thanks

Try 7-20-4...

No need to change the front and rear - Just tweak the centre...

Thanks i'll give it a try

So how does it work for steering with front and rear oils then? thinner oil in rear would send more power to the rear making it oversteer more? or thicker oil in rear would be more like locking it making it oversteer more?

i stuck 20k in the centre and its alot better now, still understeers quite a bit but i think that may be due to other settings
