Not to mention that other companies like HPI actually fix identified issues ( weak tranny gears & diffs ) quickly, rather than waiting ~8 years to release a new model that still has many of the flaws of the previous one. The forum is a joke though- I could spend a life time time helping people and the mods still have nothing better to do than interfere & poke at people's posts ( alter wording needlessly )- the 'no non-traxxas links or discussion' is the final straw, little wonder only total beginners sign up & hang around for very long, everyone else besides the brown-nosers ( Jakey, trying to hawk his nimhs still... ) and a few masochists has left or barely posts. Shame really as it could be an invaluable place to discuss traxxas models and share tips, but sharing tips & pointers is banned, when it involves the aftermarket; China & North Korea got nothin' on the traxxas forum
I agree with this, though I want to mention that Traxxas has indeed finally taken notice of most of the issues. The current E-Maxx and E-Revo are phenomenal trucks out of the box. There is room for improvement, but the trucks no longer require upgrading out of the box. The E-Revo and E-maxx really shouldn't be classed as 1/10th scales anymore, they are the same size and weight as my 1/8th Truggy!
