It would work fine. Most do run the 1515, but basic rules apply anytime you change a setup. Gear for a realistic speed, like around 40-45mph, and check temps often during initial runs. Your temps will dictate whether you are over geared or not.

The neu is a better manufactured motor, but honestly your current motor is as powerful or more powerful than the neu. It would be a more expensive motor, but not really any better performing.

It will work, if you want to try a neu get it, but you've got a good set up.
