Back after a long hiatus -
06.24.2013, 07:51 PM
Once college started the frequency of my RC use dropped incredibly fast and finally go to a point of maybe taking them out to drive once ever year, if I was lucky.
My buddy finally dragged me back to the track and I had a blast driving my CRT .5 and G2R around. Ended up breaking both trucks (oh...good times). Luckily it was just a servo saver for the CRT .5, but I did do a decent bit of damage to my G2R. Tweaked both of the x-braces, it seems like - and also snapped one of my pillow balls. Luckily I had spares so I was able to repair and finish off all of my battery packs.
I dispatched an email to Mike this morning hoping he can help me out with the x-braces.
Anyway...not sure how many of you remember me. Just wanted to say hi.
What have I missed (besides the short course bomb taking everything over)?

Evidently, everybody abandoned RC-Monster and went to the Traxxas forum.

The MMM has an adjustable bec now all the way to like 7volts.
More people like myself are trusting Hobbyking for their lipos.
Unlimited Engineering has a new electric chassis for out in the next several months.

Lincpimp left his wife and is a gay now.
Traffic here is super slow. The site's not dead, it just seems that way.
I'm still crippled.
Good to see you post!

I guess they wanted to see the same 5 threads repeated 100000000 times over.

Oh...looks nice...and expensive as usual. I'll stick to the Revo stuff. Even though dealing with the Revo chassis is a headache, it's worth it to not deal with the Maxx bulkhead/lower A-arm design.

Hi, I remember the name, I think. I left for college two years ago, but kinda left the forums a 1/2-1 year before that (came back a couple weeks ago). But my college is in the middle of no ware in the mountains so it's spread out, has plenty of grass and campus to drive cars on (now have 2 buddies to drive rc's with on campus, one has a short course truck - go figure)).

sounds exactly like my situation. got out of it for about 2 or 3 years and I just hopped back into the hobby full swing. boaght a rustler roller as my getting back into it thing then my lx2e came soon after and yesterday I just had to buy this super oldschool rc lot. managed to get a running losi xxt. dont know if it can handle brushless so for now its a 15mph brushed slowpoke. somehow it entertains me though. I might be posting some questions about it as it has an oldschool tekin esc I know nothing about. ive been tempted to plug my 3s into it but not just yet. also joined my local track which is pretty nice.

I don't know losi well, but if it's like the traxxas rustler you can put modern internals in the gearbox to run brushless power. The rustler gearbox has been the same forever though. Maybe the current losi shares the same gearbox as your older one?

I dont want to change the thread but yeah the rustler trans has been pretty bulletproof for me. Im just going to run a finned 380 can in it just incase. can be my 2s truck and my rustler be my 3s truck. I have one of ea.
I have done some reasearch and apparently the platform got sold to duratrax for the evader st. not 100% sure if the trans is the same or not yet though.
I love the vintage look http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GqKgb5qnBtI

I need to poke in and say I may be making a come back too. Though my reason for being absent wasn't college/school or lack of funding. I moved out of Arkansas to the Tulsa area and the 1/8 RC scene there was DEAD. Found other things to do with my time. Now I'm in Kansas and a nice dirt (read: not sand!) track just opened up. My Lipo packs were recycled years ago so I'll be looking for something to power my truggy when the weather gets a bit cooler.
