An aluminum tranny case in that Pede will cool the motor, IMO better than a fan and will last a lot longer. The FLM tranny case in my Rusty dropped motor temps 30º

Wow! 30°, that would be worth looking into!

I also had no idea an external bec would help cool things down. Not sure if I'm proficient enough with soldering to add a cap, but becs are easy and cheap. I may do both, and if the motor ever does lay down on me try a 4 pole 4600.
