How hot is your ESC getting?
If the ESC is staying cool and the motor is getting hot, you may actually be undergeared. Do you have a 17t, 18t, or 19t pinion you can try with the 66t spur?
Try going up a tooth at a time (if you have the gears) and see how the motor and ESC heat come out after short test runs.

Keep a good eye on the temps of your lipo packs while you're testing, too. You don't want those going over 130F.
