Unfortunately I didn't have the same experience :020:. I ended up continuing to use my Weller 100/140watt gun, and then I payed the $100 for a Hakko 936-13. And I'm glad I did :018:. A good soldering iron is well worth the money.
I agree Metal, but for me, I no longer do my batts, so something that hot when I do wires can get a little messy, especially the smaller wires...
