I guess I'm still a newbie - the earliest "new" R/C I remember is the Revo.

That was nitro stadium trucks in their infancy, before people paid attention to things like quality and porting. I wish i were doing a rc10 project, the chassis with the swingarm setup would make a good period racer.

Glassdoctor, I got a JRXT i got on EBay for a restoration project

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

I was thinking Hornet, but with the knowledge of brushless he has, we should call him a Frog :027: .

Those are some cool old chassis though... the one with the trailing arm rear suspension I think is a J&L conversion. I can't remember who did the shallow pan tub.

IMO the best bet is to clean em up good and list them all at the same time on ebay. Someone might want all of it... for restoring and parts.

Cool old stuff, imo. If I didn't have all the conversion projects already, I would be collecting a few old r/cs... I want an old kyosho javelin...
Every now and then you'll see some Javelin parts go up on eBay. I've owned a couple Optima's and they really can't take that much abuse. Your best bet would probably be to get get an rtr Optima and work on getting the Javelin pieces seperatly.
Back in the day I originally wanted a Tamiya Hotshot but ended up investing in the Optima instead. My buddies mostly had Tamiya cars like the Frog, Hornet, Subaru Brat, and Grasshopper. I had the Optima and another friend had the original RC10. Ah, the 80's...

:)
I wanted a Hotshot and Boomerang back in the day.

A couple years ago I wtche ebay a lot for Optima/Javelin and Ultima stuff. I passed up some nice stuff. Kinda wish I would have got one. There were some people paying a pretty penny.. collecting and restoring these.

The car that got me interested in the hobby was a Frog... kid at school had one wiht a hot motor and street tires. it was sweet, back then. He also had an Optima later.

I saw one of those Losi 5-link suspension trucks at my LHS once. It was in the used clean out bin they had. Some of the parts weren't on the truck but came with it. They ended up selling it for $20. Man oh man I wish I had bought it along with the Kyosho buggy they had.

Hi,

Ah the Hotshot brings back memories. It's my first rc. Unfortunately, mom threw it away after I moved out during a period when I lost interest in the hobby. Luckily, she left my Optima Mid & Clodbuster alone. The Optima mid is a musuem piece now while the clod is still going strong serving as a basher for my 5 year old.

Regards,
Joe Ling

I had a madbull for my first proper RC- hardly vintage but the design is somewhat basic and old fashioned.... then I looked at those pics; antiques man. Yep, gather up all the rc10 bits and give 'em a clean, then flog that on ebay as one lot. As for the rest, gather them up and try to seperate them into different models, but sell them as one big lot. I reckons that sounds like a plan.
