Gearing help for my dual BL - 04.11.2007, 02:20 AM

Currently running 24/66. Just doing speed runs so looking to gear up. Temps with current gearing on the motors is about 115* and controllers are around 105*. I'm Running stock Traxxas spur (don't laugh it's holding up) and looks like they make a 64t.
So if the gearing gods could help me out with some spur/pinion choices, that woud be appreciated.
Thanks.

What do you want to know? Go faster you mean? It looks like if you want to gear any higher you have to go Mod1

Or you can get up 37T pinions at Kershaw RC Designs, 26, 28, 30....etc

Johnny, if you can find one, Traxxas actually makes/made a 54T 32P spur. You might want to try and find one. I use to have a few, but think they went this some stuff I sold...

Is that the Jato spur you are talking about?

Associated makes a 52t 32p spur for the MGT that would work part # 25038

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

Yea, I think CCristo is correct. Its made for use with the stock peg type slipper. I think it was on the Nitro Hawk or something like that.

Awsome, thanks guys. I'll see if I can find that 54t. That should be ok with my 24t pinions and get me a little more speed?
Thanks.

No, Mod1 is equal to something like 25.4 pitch.

Yea. 32P is basically Mod .8, which is what the Jato has.

Pretty accurate. With my current setup, it says I should be doing 55.9mph. I actually went 57mph.
Now dropping down to the 54t spur it says that I will be doing 68.35mph, do you think that may bring my temps up too high, or is the only way to find out is to just do it?
Thanks.
