Finally got some time today to address this...I started by trying to drain the pack. I hooked it up to my old-school comm-cutter (remember those days!) anyway I ran it till the motor stopped. Then I cut off the shrink and clipped the wires, staggered. Next I took an old plastic bucket and put about 6" of water in, I mixed in a generous load of driveway salt and dropped the pack in...it was kind of funny, I sort of launched it in and backed off expecting a violent erruption of bubbles (think Diet Coke and Mentos) however in reality it just sat there with some small bubbles coming off in what looked like two places. I let it sit and checked on it about 30 mins later, still some fizz but very little. It's been a few hours now and I do plan to bring it in and check the voltage but I'm not expecting much. All in all pretty simple and if it's safe, that's a good thing b/c disposal seemed to go much simpler than I feared.
