I've got that head on my T-Maxx also. I did some before and after temp readings on it and it did make a difference. (although it was too long ago and I don't remember the #s).
I also have never had any tuning issues with my 2.5 in the gallon and a half of 33% that I have run through it since I've had it.

also, if you want it to run cool and long. DONT USE TRAXXAS TOP FUEL! it gums up the engine case and doesnt burn clean. i run trinity 30% and it looks as good as it does then i rebuilt it. guess why i had to rebuild it....

Thats odd, why would traxxas fuel be bad for traxxas motors? That is very stupid, Why did you rebuild it? Lemme geuss the traxxas fuel messed it up?:p

well the traxxas fuel doesnt burn to clean. it gummed my engine up which in turn trapped moisture and it got a little rusted on the sleeve. which made it loose compression. i only ran a gallon of it through there. when it started to act up. then at about a gallon ahd a half i had to rebuild it. when i pulled the head off the piston looked almost dirty (not really dirty but like it wasnt burning clean). now after a gallon of 30% trinity it looks like its brand new.

There is absolutly nothing wrong with traxxas fuel. Roy from rd racing products & (countless others) uses 33% and he won the NW divison of the RC PROSERIES, & finished 4th at the finals in sun valley. If your still having to tune your motor alot from tank to tank, you might have a air leak around the carb, or back plate, or around your needles. There is a product called AIR SEAL made by racer's choice, it's a liquid that you put on the places i mentioned it helps seal up the motor. This helps the motor hold a better tune. How many galloins do you have on this motor ?.. Maybe you need to have the sleeve pinched. Also temp guns are only a referance point the traxxas rep told me to tune for performance not temps. You want a nice trail of blue smoke, if it rundds good & you have blue smoke he said thas good.
