Thanks for the gearing chart..! I just have NO experience with Brushless.. So I just wanted to know where to start. This has a lot to do with the design of my mounts and the reduction in gearing will affect what I use a tranny. I think I am gonna scrap the idea of using the stock savage tranny and all that is there. I will use the skid plate as my pan that all the motor and gear box is bolted to and eliminate the tranny, engine plate, radio box, ect.. This is at least 3lb worth of crap..

I am going with my original thought and that is a center diff. Just need to find out if I wanna use one off the shelf or if I am actually gonna make a gearbox.. Thats why I wanted a gearing chart of some type..

I have the TVPs designed for this.. But they are basicaly braces for the pan style chassis it will become..

Now I need to read and see what the majority of guys are using for motors, ESC's, and battery power (lipo).. Then I will design around that for the final prototyping...

Thanks for all your help Serum.. I hear your the man around here.. If you have a good place to start, or need any machining done, just drop a line on me.. mckaseye@yahoo.com

Welcome to the forum Twisted, My guess is that you can get any answer regarding BL.

With a centerdiff, you need a low KV motor, which has quite some torque, leaning towards a 1950, wanderer XL sized can.

But what you could do, is make a slipper and a centerdiff, so the gearingratio is more appropriate for smaller/other BL motors. (just a thing to consider) To tell you the truth, i always admired your work, your low cg TVP's and buggy/savage shocks are great imo.

I am not the man around here imo, i can tell you something about BL savages and about BL etc. but the whole gathering of the rc-monster forum forms a good foundation of knowledge when it turns to brushless, batteries and charging technique.

And Mike (the owner of this site/store) can hook you up with all the BL stuff you need. You need to try running a powerfull setup once, you'll be amazed.

You know i am buikpijn on savage-central?

I know he has the Novak setup right now but I told him that probaly won't cut it in the savage so I suspect one of the xl motors is in the near future for him. I have seen the videos of yours and others on here nad its what got me interested in this. The raw power these things can put out is crazy! Ever since I'd say about mid summer my savage has been sitting on the stand just cause I was fed up with it, put a new picco .27 in it and tons of money and every weekend I went out with friends it would act up and not run at all, at one point I wanted to find the tallest cliff and chuck it :031: SO if Casey can get a setup going I may switch all together, I had plans to have a nitro and a BL savage in my stall but man battery is no much cleaner!

Oh no I didnt know that.. Now I do.. :)

I havent got a BL system yet.. Still want to learn what would be best. Hope to get some help on that from reading and the imput of those that have experience with BL in 1/8th scale MT's...

I am going for the center diff style set up with possibly a slipper in there.. Just need to know the motor and gearing I should base this concept around..

How many cells Twisted? my suggestion is 16-18 cells. that delivers quite some power already.

Cells..? Um, I plan to listen to someone with knowledge of BL becasue I have NONE.. I d know I wanna use lipo if that helps.. but I do need to think about the rest of the world that wants to run this set up and most of them dont want to deal with LiPo..

I know that with the size of LiPo I can put them inside the TVPs and thats a clean look.. but I have some battery trays here to hold NiMh pack on the sides too..

I didnt get a PM or email from ya bud..
