well ill admit when i first got the bl system i didnt like the way it drove compared to the brushed motor. it like cogs and isnt as respnosive and what not but after tuning it to my specs it now runs AWSOME!

what batteries are you using? these might be a good reason for a setup not feeling responsive. The MM 5700 is a relative smooth ride.

It is different strokes for different folks.
It is like nitro and electric thing.
Not everyone is the same.
If a brushless is set up properly it runs real smooth or should.

I raced with my MM and Orion 12X2 and it worked great... better than the 4600 because I never got that dang glitch all night. :)

It's a great brushed speedo, imo... based on the one day I ran that combo.

Fro anyone running a stock emaxx... with titans or whatever.... I think this would be the best replacement to the stock speedo. Not to mention that you could always drop in a Bl motor some day.

BL is always going to be better than brushed...always...

As for cogging in a BL. Well, thats only in a sensorless system off the line. I was somewhat of a skeptic too, thinking it cogged ALL the time, but after I got my 1/18 Mamba, I was convinced.

It coggs just as you start (If you grab full throttle off the line sometimes it even goes backwards an inch or so before rocketing off), but after you get going, even if you are barely rolling, it is buttery smooth all the up to top speed. And, a 1/18 Mamba is a pretty old ESC in terms of BL technology, the MM is supposed to be a zillion times smoother - if thats possible.

My other system is a sensored system - an HV-Maxx 4.5. Its fast...very fast for my application, in fact. I have to be very careful or else I'll fly off the track this thing is so fast. However, this is supposed to be more of an entry level system, so I can only imagine the power of other systems. This system is by far smoother than my 1/18 Mamba, but thats because its sensored, so it knows exactly what to do.

Just like the stock setup... motors are hooked up in parallel to the speedo.

I just tried a brushed silver can 540 motor on 3s lipo with my mamba max. It's about the same as a stock motor, but it heats up alot. I'm willing to bet that the 5700 geared really low on 2s or 3s lipo will be a better setup than the two brushed motors on 12cells or 4s lipo. Even better, the 4600 on 12 cells.

You need to try a MM and a 7, 8, 9XL motor. Believe me,i thought there couldn't be anything to compare. I was running the 6.5 but the 7 and 9xl on 5s lipo are awsome

When he and I are able to meet up, he will be able to compare his HV 4.5 on 4s Lipo to my 7XL on 5s A123. I'll see about getting some video :).
