Stronger and better mayb, but try and brake one of those 8 spyder's. Even in dually truck's you can not brake them.

So in other word's, you don't need those hb lightning diff's IMHO. Plus it's got a plastic housing, which has a potential to twist under power and still damage the little spider gear's. People have done that with 6 spyder's (ue) too.

I got my 8 spyders in today and aready put one together. They are very high quality. Almost too nice to be hidden away in the diff case! I would highly reccomend them to anyone looking to upgrade. And they fit in the FLM hybrids perfectly. Only needed a few shims for perfection. I don't think these can be blown.

Let us know when you run them if you break it. I am wondering if you can do it.

Peace!

so your saying the ofna diffs. wont hold up to a brushless e maxx? I plan to use dual HV setup which I used with stock about 1.5 years ago seemed ok with stock then again not bashing only speed runs.

A dual HV setup will be fine with the Ofna diffs. The dual HV setup has only about 1/2 the power output that an 8xl on 20 cells has. The other day my son sat on his bike and I tied the E-maxx to it and pulled him down the street with power to spare. The diffs are still like brand new. I actually just bought a Losi LST2 and am thinking about swaping out the diffs that it comes with for the UE 8 spyders right from the begining just for the piece of mind it will give me. I'm not trying to say that the Ofna diffs are bad, they are good as long as you don't exceed the power that they are made to handle. But the UE 8 spyders will take anything I think.

Thats what I thought too. Thats why I bought the Ofna diff first. But it didn't make it through the first weekend. The UE has taken everything my truck has dished out and didn't loosen up one bit. I think the 8 spyder just has much more surface area on the spyders to carry the load. That makes it stronger. The aluminum case probably doesn't hurt either.

I have the ofna 8 spyder set. I busted a cup on it and put ue cups in it. It looks no different now.

Does Ofna make an 8 spyder? I thought they only made 4 and 6? How did the cup break?

Well the ofna cups are shorter than ue. The cvds where close to the edge with pillow balls all the way in. One pillow ball come lose and needless to say from there. It bent a ue cvd and busted the cup up.

20 cell's won't hurt the 8 spyder's. CHC ran them on even higher cell count's, and Promod too.
