Do you have the clutch shoes in the leading position (rather than trailing)? It will grab better that way. The higher instant torque of the Neu is probably causing excessive slip. You can also remove the clutch return spring so basically the clutch shoes open up right away rather than waiting for a set rpm...

Ok, your neu motor on 4s is turning avout 25k rpm, a bit low but you can gear it up.

Go with the smallest spur: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXRJN2&P=7

And the largest clutch bell: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXPWF4&P=7

This will get you about 38 mph with the std tranny gearing. You can get more speed with the wide ratio gear set.

This is the cheapest way to go faster, or you can find some taller tires, but new rims and tires can get over 100, while spur and pinion will be about 30 bucks. The wide ratio gearset is about 15 bucks IIRC.

Heres the calc info:

Differential Ratio: 2.8461538461538462
Transmission Ratio: 2.2941176470588233
Other Ratio: 1
Spur Tooth Count: 34
Pinion Tooth Count: 20
Total Voltage: 14.8
Motor KV: 1700
Tire Diameter (inches): 5.75
Tire Ballooning (inches): 0
Motor Current Draw: 0
Motor coil Ω: 0.012
Spur/Pinion Ratio: 1.7 : 1
Total Ratio: 11.1 : 1
Tire Circumference (inches): 18.06 inches (458.83 mm)
Total Motor Speed: 25160 RPM
Vehicle Speed: 38.77 mph (62.28 km/h)
Effective Speed Rate: 2.62 mph/V (4.21 kmh/V)
Estimated Adjusted Speed: 37 mph (59 km/h) - 5% loss
Effective KV Value: 1700

Mark, if you cant get the performance you want out of it with gearing then you might have to go to a higher cell count. I usually ran that motor on 5s in my buggy with the quark.

I know you said you also picked up a 1515 2.5d for you crt. 5s would also work well on that motor since they have the same kv rating.

only downside is not all MM will work with 5s.

Kyosho SC, tekin rs, D3 17.5
Hyper 9e, mmp,tekin 1900kv
Associated sc10 4x4, novak 4.5
