I am building a brushless mugen to race with. Happywing helped me out on RCU with some things and so did mike here at RCM. Here is my list and am hoping you RCM guys will spot anything wrong with my list

How does this list look? Also will i need that front cover to keep the dirt out? and will i need a heatsink for this motor?
Will the sized mike offers fit his battery tray? Or will it need to be cutsom made? Thanks for your time!!!

Welcome to the forums.

Looks like a good list.... But you dont need the external BEC with the Monster Max. It has a switching BEC built in good for 6s.

The longer battery tray will fit the PQ 6000 4s pack.

You will not need a heatsink for the motor. Neus run fine without a heatsink.

Neither the front or rear motor covers are necessary, but as a fairly chaep way to protect an expensive motor it seems worth it to me. I do have a Neu that has been running in a Revo for over a year now with no covers at all and no problems. But the covers sure cant hurt.

Make sure you post some pics when you get it assembled. Sounds like it should be a sweet truck.

Thanks for the reply, so ill take the BEC off. Is that charger good enough for those battery's? or is that a cheapo one i shouldn't buy? Is those 2 pinions good? Happywing said 10t for racing and 13t for bashing. This good? Sorry for all the questions, this is just an expensive conversion lol

Ill be sure to get some pix. This project will take a good month (i dont rush things)

why would you need two of each pinion?

I heard the steel spur eats them?

if they are mikes hardened pinions you are good to go. you dont have to worry about them.

The charger is good to 100watts so it should do a 4s 6000mah pack just fine (14.8v x 6A =88.8 watts), But after looking at it you will need a power supply with it or you will need to run it off of a car battery or something. Also, dont forget to get a balancer of some sort for the lipo. That charger doesnt seem to have a built in balancer.

Mhmm, thanks for the Info, i will be looking for another charger, since i dont need a BEC or the 2 extra pinions ill get a nicer charger

Hows the Hyperion EOS1210i Charger? It has a balancer and it looks like the best one mike is selling.


Also my total is $1879 and i have to order the Mugen on a different site. I dont want this to go over $2,000 so my question is will shipping for all this stuff be outragous (most will be bought through mike)

The EOS1210I actually doesn't have a balancer, so you'll need to buy one separately. And the Hyperion LBA10 is a great option for one. If you want to go with something a little cheaper, you can go for the MRC Superbrain 989 and the LBA10 balancer. I actually run this set up and can't be happier.

Great list. It will be an awesome truggy.

I think the stock spur gear is a 46T. If so, you will want to get 11T and 12T pinions.

To keep your costs down some you could use some used parts. Get a T roller instead of a new one. The Mugen just might be the best overall for durability out there. Happywing and I both have a lot of spare Mugen parts we never needed to use.

Other than that, you'll have one of the most competitive Truggys out there. Once built, ask him for the exact setup. It is dialed.

I've exactly this truck, and i've the Neu 1515, 1Y.
And for the gearing, i've 15T with badland tire, and i did only track.

And if i was you, i'll take the 1Y instead of the 1.5D, just to let you some room if you decided to go 5s or 6s later.

Whats the difference between the 1.5d and the 1y?
