Favorite bashing/racing surface -

Haven't seen anything like this so....New thread. Just looking for ideas, comments, thoughts, or whatever.
What kind of surface do you guys prefer to race/bash on. I'm sure for racing a high grip clay surface is favored but what about alternatives? What do you like to bash on?
I have bashed on ashpalt, dirt, clay, grass, sand, and woodchips/mulch. Ashpalt is hands down the best for speed runs I know, speed is fun but straight line runs don't thrill me. Dirt and clay are fun as long as they have some moisture, otherwise in dirt all you have is dust and no traction on either when dry. Grass is ok but put an axcessive load on the electronics. Sand is a blast but also sand blasts the vehicle, wet sand builds up.
From the few times I've gotten to play in mulch I liked what I seen! The roostertails are fun. Traction is still pretty good. Great drainage! Doesn't really build up on the truck when wet and not dustly when dry. No extra load on the electronics. Unless you get a chunk of mulch stuck somewhere it doesn't belong chances are your not going to damage anything. It's easy to build up jumps and berms too. Has anyone else played around on mulch?
What do you guys prefer? I'm trying to find a place I can build a decent size track and trying to figure out my best bet for surface. Getting access to someplace with clay is doubtful. I know someone that owns a sawmill and could get mulch/woodchips/sawdust for next to nothing if not free, or if I have to cut down some trees to build a track I can always rent a woodchipper.
