make my CRT oversteer - 12.22.2008, 10:08 PM

My crt has been great so far, but coming from monster trucks I cant get my CRT to slide like my revos liked to. It wants to track straight and push. LOTS AND LOTS OF PUSH. I would like to get it to oversteer like my revos did, because to me it just makes driving alot more fun. what could I do to get it to slide alittle more?

all I know for sure of is that I have 30K weight in the center diff.

Increase the weight of the diff fluid in the center diff.

Center diffs naturally distribute more power to the front wheels and under (high) power make the front wheels spin (but the rears retain traction) which makes the truck push.

The rear tires rotate slower when than the front when the truck is turning, so if you make it so the front and rear tires have to rotate at more similar speeds (heavier center diff fluid) then the truck will drift as the rear tires will spin faster than they need to, causing a loss in traction and making the rear end kick out.

Just throw 50K in the center and you will drift all over but still have good overall power distribution.

What tires do you have in the front? Try and find a set with a bit more "side" traction. That will help keep the front end going in the direction of the corner, but the rear will still slide as much as before. You should be able to slide, or drift, around corners pretty well with some practice.

Edit: BP-Revo, that makes sense too.

haha im running some pretty worn out badlands right now, but even with my panthers I have a hard time getting it to slide unless its really dusty.

I have been thinking about getting thicker center diff fluid anyways so i will most likely give 50-60K a try soon. the 30K worked pretty good with 5s, but now that I run 6s it wants to unload on the fronts alot more than it used to.
