cost to repair a Neu? - 12.26.2008, 09:39 AM

I think I may have burnt my neu up on christmas, and I was wondering what you guys paid to get yours repaired.

I saw that they also have a 50% off retail thing if the motor is not repairable so I guess $127 isnt to bad.

I had been playing around with gearing becuase It had been getting alittle warm(160) which is out of the ordinary because it usually runs about 135. I was doing lots of high speed running though, so I tried gearing it up to cool it down. POWER was uncontrollabe and threw all my tires off the wheels, but after I went to the 15t pinion it did cool down to about 150. then I decided I would go back to my 13t and go easy on it. all was good and it was running about 140 one minute and then about 3 minutes later it temped 250(I was checkin the temps often). I was like WTF, and I havent attempted to run it again.

Seen that before with the temps shooting up like that. You probably have a bad winding in the motor. The stiff wires that come out the back of the motor gt broken (all it takes is a couple a couple stands in the wire to get broken and the motor will heat up liek crazy)

When you get the new motor back make sure you figure out a way to secure the wires coming out the back of the can to make sure they dont bend and vibrate while you are running. It will provent the wires from breaking. A wire can only bend so many times before it breaks. and the vibration rom running flexes the wire al llttle bit every time you hit a bump or land a jump.

As far as cost goes.. Yea half price should be about the worst.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...
