Are the Elite 35C packs really that good? - 12.31.2008, 01:05 AM

before i buy one of the Elite 35C lipo packs i just want to confirm from those who have tried them that they are really that good. I have heard that they kick ass but i currently run ThunderPower Extreme and they are great and amain has them on sale for $240 which is a steal compared to the normal $289. has anyone out there compared the Elite packs to the Thunder Power Extreme V2 packs? if not, how do they compare to other packs you have run?

I'm running the Elite 5300s. Awesome packs. I don't have much of a comparison with other modern high discharge packs, though. I can only compare to some older TP's and some Maxamps. Alot of the boat guys swear by them claiming at least as good of performance as the latest Enerlands for much cheaper. Their testimony was enough for me to buy.

I have seen some discharge graphs of the 35c cells, as compared to other brand cells. They hold better voltage under load that pretty much every other cell, although I haven't compared them with Mikes packs. Can't share the specifics though, I was sworn to secrecy because of who did the testing.

Great cells, great prices, and great support from the company. I can certainly recommend them.

when you say they hold better voltage "than pretty much every other cell" that suggests that maybe there were some packs/cells that were comparable. what were the packs that had equal to or close performance stats? do you recall?

search google for 35c lipo and you will hit the brands that were tested against. The elite was on top of the 35c test.

thanks. after searching for a while i did find this from one of the employees/owners of cheapbatterypacks and an entire thread about it. it sounds like they really test their stuff and rate the Elites, ThunderPower, Polyquest, and NeuEnergy all at the top of the industry. thanks for your help everyone.

quote from thread i found:

"Put a Polly quest, Thunder Power or Elite 30+ C lipo up against a falsely rated pack and you will see the difference. We have tested pretty much every lipo out there at one point or another and will only carry what is good. We have been doing lipos for about 6 years. Alot longer than 99% of the battery places out there and know what to look for and what to avoid. Just pay attention to Electric RC boat racing and see what batteries are winning... It's all Neu(Enerland based), Polly Quest(Enerland based), Thunder Power(Enerland based), and Elite.

Common sense, Fire power(I believe thats the name), Tenergy BYD Powerizer are just a small sample of names that cary not so good or accurately rated product. Of course there is alot more I could name, but the little blue star prevents me from saying that."

I cannot comment on the elite 35c performance, but i can say that cheapbatterypacks have always offered great products and service. I have ordered stock items, loose cells and had them make me nimh packs, probably 6 orders in all. Great, fast service and a diverse product range. And they tell the truth...

I have 2 of their ( cheapbatterypacks ) 4800 4s 25c batts. and like them a lot. My only complaint is the shrink wrapping. I would rewrap them before first use to prevent dirt from getting between the cells
