Savage LCG chassis?

I'm thinking about getting a lower center of gravity chassis for my BL Savage to generally improve performance, but haven't really decided which one. Actually, about the only thing I know for sure is that the Rock Concepts one is a bit pricey.......so I found these two which are about the same.

First is the Vertigo Performance "Race-This" one found here. It looks pretty good, and I think my ground clearence wouldn't suffer all too much if I swapped it out. It also appears to be pretty chunky sections of 3mm alum., but I wouldn't mind having a few extra ounces if it beefed up the truck at the same time.

Second, would be the "Twisted Toys" one, as seen here and also here. I'm beginning to like this one a bit more, the design seems a bit better. I like the flat panel on the underside of the chassis, as well as the "webbing" design of the side plates, seems a bit more flowing than the Vertigo one.......and maybe even more re-inforced too.

Anway, I'm not all too afraid of the swap and dissassembly, or the loss of center clearence as long as I have a more stable platform (bashing or racing alike), but which one do you guys think is better?

Wow, that's pretty amazing too, does it come with both plates or just one? Also, are they going to carry the center skid to go with it? Wait........never mind, found the center skid for $11. Now that I look at their stuff, it'd be cool to get the center skid and servo plate too, has anyone bought these items or tested them yet though? Not that I don't doubt the quality or toughness, but moreso to see some more pics of them.

I have sold a few of these items, actually, but haven't seen any completed pictures. FLM'sd stuff is pretty tough to beat, though. If you have any troubles, they are top notch on the support.

Looks like the FLM stuff is the way to go then! I got one question for you Mike, can you get the other stuff that I'd like to get in addition to the LCG chassis? Like the servo plate and center skid, how about that?

Oh, and kinda silly to ask this, but does FLM include screws with their chassis kits, or do the stock ones still fit?

FLM includes the needed screws.

I've got both of the TVP's, the EXT and the normal size. The ext. (40mm) includes a dogbone.

The servo plate is really nice! for that money, you can't go wrong imo. THough HPI also launched a lexan topplate for their stock radio box.

That skid makes a centerdiff conversion really simple..

If it's an FLM product, it should be on RC-Monster.com by the end of this weekend. I'll be working on getting all FLM items in the store over the next few days.

Just got a PM from Mike, he has all the stuff, just hasn't listed it yet (said it'd be up by this weekend though). I'm pretty darn sure I'm gonna get this stuff now, just not sure how soon though.....blasted car insurance payment is due.

What are you planning on get dabid? I was looking at the extended LCG ones myself. I like to know what the difference in handling is. Let me know if you get them and how you like them.

I was planning on the lcg chassis, but don't think I'll go for the extended......or do you think I should Serum? The longer wheelbase would definately help it handle bumps and jumps on or off the track, but would hurt break-over angle (think: coming to the top of a hill, the way that the hill pokes out and if you don't have the clearence you'll just scrape) moreso than the regular length one. Tower puts the stock wheelbase at about 13.25", they put a Hot Bodies Lightning ST at about 14.5".........the Lightning ST is the longest wheelbase I know of right now.

Anyway, the extended plates look like they'd bump the wheelbase by 1.56" longer (basic conversion just by staring at a ruler to see what 40mm equals), so with the extended plates my Savage would wind up with about a 14.81" wheelbase......that's long, real long. My rock crawler Clod runs a 16" wb, would the Savage look freakish at all being that long? I know wheelies would be a thing of the past, but I don't get many right now anyway, it'd do solid launches though right?
