Street legal BB golfcart? - 04.15.2009, 02:44 PM

I know its legal to run s stock golfcart on public roads with all of the standard safety epuipment installed onto it such as seatbelts, signal lights, headlights, brakelights, doors, windsheild, windshield wipers etc and it must not exceed 35mph but does this include a modded golfcart?

Ive seen videos of golfcarts with 700cc-1000cc bike engines in them and they put out a ton of power. If I ever take on this project and installed a gov on it would it still be street legal?

I can see Harold rolling in that beast right now... Not sure if he would be able to score any "Fair Maidens" in that beast, at least not the "low mileage, and thirsty" kind that he wants...

I dont want a 3 wheeler because I would prefer not to die of a rollover at 10mph. And because 4wheeled golfcarts are baller. "linc probably knows what I mean".

i see a guy driving around here with a Kawasaki Mule type small utility vehicle. It's got setbelts and all. Go to your local city hall or police department and see what your local laws are. Most likely, especially if there are 5000 people are less, they won't really care.

Here is my golf cart. Should be a blast when we get it finished. Just have little random thing to tie up. Cool thing is when its got all the body panels on it it looks just like any other golf cart except for the pipe hanging out the back.

I also want to do what you are doing but with a 3 wheeler because it would mainly be something to tinker with and for utility purposes. I also thought it would be tippy too but I would put something like street bike rollers on it or something. It would have a lean but not fully tip. Just a thought.

Did you know?

those 3 wheelers are pretty hard to tip to be honest and its actually easier to tip the 4 wheelers. to get the 3 wheelers to tip u really have to wrap that steering bar around and even then it will hit those skid bars on the side there and all that will happen is one of the back wheels will come like 8in off the ground and spin till it hits again. but the 4 wheeled ones seem to get out of control easier as it takes less effort to make a tight turn and get out of control. but add some speed to the mix and really they both become pretty unsafe due to the suspension and those tires are not exactly speed rated. my dad fixes golf carts and me and my brother used to put those old harley 3 wheelers through hell. they are lots of fun. i have a kawasaki 440 sled engine im planning on dropping in a 3 wheeler this year when the weather gets better
