Identifying a Fiegao motor - 09.10.2009, 12:17 PM

I have a Fiego motor and though I was told it's a 9XL, I can't positively identify which one it is or how to wire it to an esc due to the lack of color coding on the wires. Is there a way to tell?

Can length is 58.65 mm.
Diameter of the fron of the can is 38.53 mm.
Shaft diameter is 5 mm.

Fiego 9XL-4?

Thanks in advance!

don't be afraid buddy. Any wire would be good. if the rotation is wrong, just switch 2 wires.

wire orientation does not matter. it just changes the direction of the motor, looks like a 7xl didnt know they have 8-9xl's in the finned version

Definitely not a XL can at 58.65mm. Sounds more like a L can. Might be a 9L which spins 2731kv.

That is a l can. They did sell them in all of the winds. Most likely a 9l as that was the most popular wind.

Best thing I can tell you to do is use the briang calculator and gear the truck for 30mph factoring that you have 9l. Then road test with a gps or radar gun and note the speed. Then go back and input the speed and leave the kv blank in the parameter solver and you will then have the correct loaded kv. You can then gear appropriately for your application.
