Looking for some suggestions on a charger for 4s 5000mah lipo pack,I have already made myself a 15 amp power supply.Any suggestions or reviews would be great as there are so many options out there.

Any charger capable of 4s, 5A, and a power limit of at least ~90W will suffice.

Thanks for the reply Brian,I know the specs I need I was asking more of which brands.What brand do you use yourself that you find reliable?

HobbyCity's Accucel-8 (150watts) charger, the iCharger 106b (250watts), Hyperions 0720iNet (2509watts) charger will all charger 4S without any current reduction to stay under their output power limit.

I use a pair of Hyperion 0610iNet which were replaced by the newer 0720iNet charger.

lol, sorry. The chargers I have are a bit antiquated and expensive by today's standards, but I use a Hyperion EOS7i and a TME Xtrema.

Imax B5
cheap, reliable, simple, inacurate ballancer but does the job within specs (people are whinng about 0.02 of a volt difference which i dont worry about)
and if you want to make the ballancer super acurate, there is a kit that some guy made up to replace the resistors to make it into an A+ charger that runs with the $200 ones.

I've had this one for about 2 yrs now. Works really well and can charge up to 12s. It's an older model but the price has dropped considerably. It should be great for the batt and power supply you have.

I use a MRC Superbrain 989 and a TME Extrema Balancer.

Good for 6S on both the charger and the balancer.

What I like about the balancer is the computer software. I can monitor what my pack is doing while checking out RCM.

The Imax B5 is only rated for 50W max power. You might be able to charge a 4S pack at 3A, but that would be pushing it, taking into account the efficiency rate and other losses in the system. Not up to the job IMO for a 4s 5000mah pack. Also, I don't know if you've looked at those tiny surface mount resistors that need to be replaced for the balancer accuracy upgrade, but they are a huge pain to replace. I looked at doing that to my Imax B6, but in the end decided to upgrade to a more capable unit. I realized that even if I got the balancer more accurate it would still be limited by the 50W rating.

I now use the iCharger 106B+ and would definitely recommend it. Rated for 250W and the balancer is very accurate. Also has a few neat extra functions, and USB computer connection for firmware upgrades and playing around with charging data, etc with LogView software if you like that techie stuff. A-Main now carries this charger under their "Pro-Tek" line for $125, so you wouldn't have to order from HC.

Go for the best charger you can afford. It will pay off in the long run. Packs will get more energy dense, able to charge at faster rates. Get a charger that will be able to keep up.

50watt charger is good for about ~2-2.5amps with a 5s lipo, I know that is true from owning a Bantam BC6- very similar to the Hyperion 606i in spec.

Depends really, for a straight forward charger you can get very cheap ones that'll charge your pack in around 2 hours, or if you have the budget you can pickup a more powerful unit and do 1c charge rates, or upto 5c if you have the right lipos.

Im guessing you have hobbycity ones though, so 1c = 1 hour to be safe.

Just like rabosi I use the 1210i. I think it's been discontinued hence the super low price, but for that amount of money you can't go wrong. Throw in 2x LBA10 balancers and the networking adapter and you're set to balance charge up to 12s. Currently this is my main charger.

good point, well made

i dont take these things into account myself as i carry 10,000mah of total battery with me to the track and that lasts the whole day + bashing.
