Tallest buggy body? - 05.06.2010, 07:14 AM

Hey guys,

I've got a brushless Hyper 8, but the lipo is so tall that every 1/8 buggy body i've tried gets pushed way up, and I end up hacking half of it to pieces and it still doesn't fit right.

Does anyone know of the tallest buggy shell available?

Thanks

I believe the Twingo is the tallest buggy body.

I could fit 2 4s packs on top of each other under my Focus body.

With the old battery tray floor 9mm above the chassis my hot boddies lightning body wouldnt quite sit level with 2 high subCs or a 5000mAh pack but it wasn't hidiously lopsided either standing up you couldnt tell, it was only noticable if you brought your eyelevel down close to the buggy, with the new battery tray built into the chassis I could easily run a 5s 5000mAh pack under the standard lightning body.
Pics here.

Tamiya F201 carbon, Mamba 7700, MM, 2s A123 2.3ah.
Xray XT8, 1518, MMM, 4s5Ah.
Lots of boats.

Those would definitely give enough room, but I would guess he's looking for a traditional buggy style body.

Yeah I was thinking more of the traditional buggy body.

Just out of curiosity though, how did you mount that body? It's got 4 body posts like a truggy.

The original Lightning body was attached via a single stubby body post attached to the top of the front and rar diff housing. I used Schumacher long body posts that come with alloy brackets which I bolted to some of the many unused shock mounting holes in the top of the shock towers,I could run the stock lightning body under the Focus body with this setup for offroading to keep my chassis and components clean. With the carbon conversion I use the same posts and brackets but on carbon arms trapped under the shock mount bolts.

I got it from Mantua Models the place linked to in the Twingo link, they are the UK importers but the rallygame bodies originally come from DeltaPlastik in Italy, all these bodies here are 1/8 buggy fitment. BYSM (also in Italy) make rallygame bodies too and all these here fit 1/8 buggies , I'm very tempted by the Lambo myself.
