Are JST-EH and JST-XH balance taps compatible? - 05.08.2010, 04:21 PM

So I bought a pair of Neu lipos, and noticed they use JST-EH balance taps. Since all my current packs use JST-XH I figured I would buy a balance board to adapt the EH type taps to my iCharger XH inputs. But then I looked on A-main and they say the balance board I need will work with both JST-XH and JST-EH type taps. So do I even need to buy this balance board? Are the plugs slightly different but close enough to fit the same input, because it looks like the wiring is the same. I might get it anyway because it's more convenient than plugging directly into the charger and using different adapters for multiple packs. I just want to make sure this will work with both EH and XH taps.

If you zoom in on the pictures you can see the balance board says XH and EH right on it. The reason a bit confused is because the second two links show separate balance boards for the XH and EH types.

Supposedly good for both types:

Supposedly need diffferent:

I studied the two connectors a bit more and it looks to me like they are very similar, probably enough to fit in the same female plugs. The wiring order is the same for sure. I decided to order the board posted in the first link.

Well male XH and EH DO NOT fit in the same female plugs. The board I bought from A-main is for XH only. I contacted them and told them they should change the description on their website (they haven't yet, but maybe they will). They offered to send me an EH balance board for free, which is nice. I was just going to put some XH taps on my Neu packs, but now I don't have to.
