Havoc Pro HV 4.5 glitching - 05.20.2010, 12:58 PM

Is this a real problem?I bought my 1st Novak Brushless combo,a Havoc Pro with a 4.5 HV motor.Will the ESC need a software update?Just dont want any problems to arise.Its going into a SC truck.

Why ask about a problem you don't have? If you already bought the item and have it then put it in the truck and see if there's a problem. If you haven't bought it yet and are asking if you may have this problem if you buy it then say so. Personally I would ditch the Novak esc anyways and run a MMPro with the HV4.5

I had the 4.5 and havoc pro in my hyper 10sc (came as part of the package deal at nitrohouse) and it had glitching issues...ie esc shutting off when WOT from a dead stop....novac tech support was really cool about the situation and said that there was a run of esc's that needed a software update BC the esc wa reaching LVC prematurely....as far as I know I believe myself and someone else on RCM are exp the same problem and we both gt our combos from nitrohouse...there is also another local guy who runs atthe track I go to that is having the same issues as well...I sent my esc in about a week and a half ago but I haven't heard any updates from them yet....as far as the mmp goes...I've had 3 and 2 out of the 3 (one of them BNIB) had the bec issue...gonna send that one in once the havoc comes back, but right now my mmp is running with a CCBEC...(sorry to go off on a tangent :)

I wasn't worried about the turn around time NOvak i was just telling phat monk about the software update issue...no worries on my end .BTW, i spoke to CS a couple days ago and they received my havoc pro on the 12th.....if all it needs is a software update why don't you guys make some sort of "NOVAK-LINK" LOL....so that the user can update their esc's to current software versions on their own....i'm sure it will probablly save a lot of headaches in terms of dealing with sending the esc's in and then shipping them back and will give you guys less things to deal with/worry about...(that is, if the problem really lies in just the software)...i really like the on board programming however, having a programming card would also be just as nice instead of having to deal with looking at the setup sheet everytime you change something (i really can't remmeber which lights mean what ..lol...but then again, i've only owned 2 novak products within the past 5 years) anyways, just my 2cents...i really liked how smooth the havoc pro was with the 4.5 before i had to send it in...

No problem NovakTwo.I also have the Nitrohouse 10SC ESC/HV 4.5 combo.And I am gonna give it a go in my 10SC.BTW tech support in RCM helps to solve probles with tech issues,but can cause more problems also.I did read in the RC T... Hyper 10 SC thread of there being a issue with the Havoc Pro 4.5 HV glitching due to the above mentioned issue of software.
