Castle's New Home - 07.16.2010, 05:15 PM

We just spent the last three days moving Castle to a new home.

Our old building was only a little under 12,000 sq ft. . . and we outgrew it quite a while ago.

Our new building is 65,000 sq ft. And we now have a lot of room to grow into.

Check out the pictures of the new place (I took these during the move -- but not everything is unpacked yet!)

Our new conference room:

Installing the SMT line:

Engineering's new area (about 8000 sq ft)

Part of Order Admin and Tech Support:

Part of the production area (getting set-up)

View of the production area from under the mezzanine:

More production area and warehouse:

My new office (first time I've had an office at Castle!)

Wire processing:

Lots more pictures if you browse my photobucket.

Patrick

Very nice Patrick. My compliments on the fancy new desk. You do know having an office at the plant means you have to work now right?

No more showing up just to play, Joe and Thomas can't do it all you know.

It would be nice to be able to see it but this goverment computer does not allow access to photobucket. I'll be able to see them once we pull into port during this deployment. Google up USS George Washington (CVN 73) and you'll know what we're doing :):).

Anyway, congrats!!!!

No, having his own office means he can hide....... if he turns out the light and lays down behind that big desk

You didn't get a window?? ooohh, no time for daydreaming. Gotta pay for that somehow

No the building is over 20 years old. It was originally built by King Radio. My wife (Brenda) and I both worked in the building years ago. Brenda started there when it was still King Radio, and I worked there after King was bought out by Allied Signal Aerospace. Allied Signal eventually merged with Honeywell, and then they built a new facility.

The building was then occupied by several different companies that came and went.
Sprint spent $9million upgrading and renovating the building just a couple years ago, then moved out after only 18 months.

It had everything we needed for our production (power distribution buses, 2 x 100hp air compressors and air distribution, a 2 MW whole-building UPS system and 2 MW diesel generator, complete air-handling with chilled-water AC system and air filtration, etc.)

Because there is a TON of commercial space available in KC (much of it vacated by Sprint) we were able to lease the space very cheap.

We were very lucky to find such a nice space that had everything we needed -- and find it for a good price.
