Shorted a lipo

Hey guys, just got my hyperion 3 cell g3 vx packs. When I was soldering one of the traxxas connectors on the leads accidentaly touched...twice. There were sparks but just for a moment each time. Put them on my charger and the pack still had the same voltage as the one that hadn't been shorted. Am I ok?

you should be fine. i did the same exact thing when i soldered up an old zippy battery. as long as the cells aren't swollen and the voltages all check out, you are fine.

You'll be fine, just keep an eye on it. I shorted 2 of my 6 lipos for my bike before I got andersons on. One short was bad enough to burn a battery tab; I resoldered it. The shorted packs show a little damage, but they work fine. They are 6s packs and the damaged ones have a somewhat-weak cell or two.

Thanks guys! Charged them up and wow... those hyperions are double the power than my true rc's. No puffing from the batteries Off topic question... I put some badlands on lpr sized rims and after the run, the wheels seemed to be much larger in diameter and thiner. When I press on the tire I can feel air inside... so I am assuming that air somehow got trapped in there. I did not drill holes in the rims for air, could this be the problem?

If they are sealed then the air inside may have heated up and expanded? but if that was the case it would go back down after cooling off... You can still drill holes in the wheel/tire, just be careful that the foams don't get mangled by the drill bit

Just use a body reamer to make two small vent holes on the middle/outside of the tire.

I went ahead and drilled two holes in each tire this morning, and what do you know, the tires realesed all their air and returned to normal size. Thanks again guys!
