I’m selling this Savage because I no longer drive it and I’m preparing to move and don’t want to haul it along. The savage is from this older thread: http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8289
I bought the rolling chassis from 2fastSS4U. It started life as a Savage XL, then 2fastSS4U sent the truck to Monster Mike to get it converted to electric.
Majority of the parts are metal from fastlanemachining who has an excellent warranty on their parts, if you can break it, just send it back and they will replace the part. I was never able to break a part, but here is their site: http://www.fastlanemachine.net/faq.php
I would like to sell it complete with everything except the nomadio radio and receiver. But I will part out if I don’t sell it in a few weeks. I take Paypal or USPS money order only.
Specifications:
NEU 1515 2.5D 1650kv finned motor (I think NEU “re-classified” this as a 1700kv motor) Has Monster Mikes rear end and also front end cap to prevent dirt from getting inside the motor. Motor is very strong. I use a 12t MOD one pinion from monster Mike. I like the speed/power ratio and the motor stays cool with this combo.
Castle Creations Mamba Monster Max ESC
Hitec HS 5955TG Metal gear high torque servo Titanium gear coreless servo Dimensions=40x20x37mm(1.57x.78x1.45in) weight=62g(2.18oz)
@4.8v - Speed=.19sec/60*standing torque = 23.4kg.cm(324.95oz.in)/5* Hold out
@6v - Speed=.15esc/60* standing torque = 31.2kg.cm(433.27oz.in)/5* Hold out
Maximizer 1/2" offset black beadlock wheels and proline masher tires. The tires are worn and will need to be replaced soon. Can still be used to bash, but they would not be good racing tires.
The batteries are Apogee LiMn. They charge and have the same principles as Lipo (you don’t need a special charger, a regular lipo charger will work) but with this technology they showed a video of them taking a drill right through the middle of the pack and it didn’t catch on fire. One is a 7.4v 5800MAH and the other is a 11.1v 5800MAH and I combine them with an adaptor. Unfortunately Apogee is no longer making batteries. These were charged with a Hyperion 1210 and stored at 50% charge when not in use. They still have great life in them, but newer packs would probably be better I’m sure.
I have also ran twelve A123 cells to get 19.8v with 4600MAH. Little heavier with less run time and power, but a good alternative that is safe and long lasting batteries.
Has a Hot Bodies lightning center Differential. That helps prevent this thing from doing crazy wheelies everywhere, and puts the power to the tires on the ground.
Body is a Savage XL body (The longer one) it has cracks around the mounting posts and could use a replacement soon.
The truck is was a basher, the metal parts are not brand new and shiny anymore, the differentials and shocks could use a servicing. The drive shaft cups are showing wear. But as you can see in the video it is ready to run.
