Other winds besides the ones listed on the site??? - 06.27.2006, 01:46 PM

I'm wondering if Mike can get winds of motors other than the ones listed on the site?

I have an all aluminum Ruster that I am running 3s lipo on a 7020 and a 380C-6L. Fast as hell, but the motor gets to hot. I know, Im running it past the 50,000 rpm limit. Thats why. Controler is fine, no heat problems. What I'm wondering is can he get me a 380c-9L or 380c-7XL. The KV ratings of these motors would be more in line w/ running a 3s lipo. If so, how long would it take to get it here?

Which of these would be better for this application? Im sure the 7XL would have better torque, but how much would it shorten run time? And then the question is.... w/ 2 wheel drive do I need that torque?

9L = 3211kv * 11.1v = 35642 rpm
7XL = 3317kv * 11.1v = 36818 rpm

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

Your best bet for an answer on this one is to send him an email at rcmonstermike@gmail.com
He may have what you need in stock, but not on the site. If he DOES have it on-hand, you can expect about a week for delivery. If he does NOT have it, and can get it, you can expect two weeks or so, depending on where he has to get it from.
Again, your best answer will come directly from Mike via email, but I wanted to give you some idea of what to expect.

I think the 380C 7XL would be less ideal because of its length. It might stick out too far, and would be more prone to being damaged by a hit. The L version should be more than enough IMO.
