Mamba Max, max RPM question - 01.07.2007, 04:48 PM

When they mention 65,000 rpm maximum on the Mamba Max combo, what is the limiting factor? Is it the ESC is only capable of 65k rpm, or is it the motor that is the limiting factor?

It is the motor, the esc is capable of over 80+K rpm, though i doubt most will exceed or even be near those rpms in our applications.

The problem with nitro's these days are that they arent brushless... LOL

I doubt the motors bearings would even last at those kinds of rpms being continuesly being used.

Since it runs okay with a 4pole neu on 5S with a KV of 2000, it can easily do 74K on a 2 pole

Which Neu motor was that, and is it comparable in size to a Mamba Max motor? (so I can put it in my Jato) :)
