Trackpower.. yes, no? - 03.01.2007, 09:50 AM

I was thinking of going with 3 trackpower 4900 packs, 2 for my LSP and 1 for my B4, than sell off my maxamps packs.

Id get their V-balancer, and use my 989 to charge them up.
Do you guys think it will be an increase in performance? Im already running a 4s2p maxamps 8000 lipo in my lsp and a 2s2p 8000 lipo in my B4.

How could i balance/charge 2 of the flightpowers at once? They dont seem to have a balance plug attached.

Last question ; the v-balancer is inline like the lba10, correct?

Thanks guys.

The problem with nitro's these days are that they arent brushless... LOL

Yes, it will offer more power.

Good choice. the trakpowers rock.

Balancing goes like this; the individual packs use small 2mm sockets; you need to make a special harness.

If you decide to go with the Trakpowers, amainhobbies.com also sells them besides duralitebatteries.com. Not only that, but I can tell you a coupon code to save $25 off of $250+ from A Main as well. I have a feeling that I'm going to placing an order for some today.

Cool. The only problem is that I don't see that they sell the balancer or balance adapter. Duralitebatteries.com has both of those items available though.

I might be ordering off duralite since they have a dealer in Canada which means no duties to pay. Also faster shipping here. Than again, amain has amazing shipping too!

Hows the life on these? Longer than maxamps if balanced every run?

I might get 2 and run both of them once in my LSP than charge and have 2 runs for my B4, too bad they dont have 8000mah for the price of the maxamps packs.. ;)

I was thinking about buying 3 packs for myself. I could use 2 for my E-Maxx and LSP-R and then the other pack could be used in my T3 or EVO III. Then I could take either the LSP-R or E-Maxx out for a run and then run the EVO or T3 in the same session.

My only problem is I have a good many IB3800's sitting at home that I've never used. Although, if I bought the Trakpowers, I could sell off all my other sub-c NiMh cells, save for the stick pack I need for my Wheely King.

Also, FWIW Sylvester, icare-rc.com sells the Trakpowers, balancer and 2S balance adapter as well. I'm not sure if they're closer to you than duralite, but at least they're in Canada too.

Im still thinking about these batteries..

Maxamps

Great runtime
Ok power
A bit heavy
Great price

Track power
Ok runtime

OK price..

Ill have to do some more testing with my maxamps and see how they do..

Thanks for the words of wisdom Rene! :)

I will have to think about it for a bit, but i will very likely (90% chance) get the Track powers.

I was thinking of the 6s2p 5000 pack, they are 40% off right now and are only 240 cdn! Any good? They are long as hell!

Just get those TrakPowers, dude. Don't make the prices and offers fool you. Quality over quantity, my friend.

I would say get them from duralitebatteries.com where you can get the packs, balancer and balancing connectors.

I'd even go with x2 3s 4900mah FlightPowers( more power than the TrakPower) for the LSP-R and a TrakPower for the B4.

The name is Alawi. You can call me Al.
Nice to meet you!
