I've installed Castle Link V2.23 and I can not get it to connect to any of my mamba ESCs..
Basically, I open castle link, plug in the ESC. The computer pops up "Found new hardware: MambaMax".. THen it asks me to install the software for the hardware... It searchs for the software and doesn't find anything...
Is this the first installation of any CastleLink software, or is this just an upgrade to a previous version?
There have been a few issues with the 2.23 software. Something about the version of .NET you have installed. You could uninstall 2.23 and use a previous version, or mess around until it works.
If this is the first time you have installed CastleLink, what O/S are you running? If Windows XP, do you have SP2 installed? If so, you have to install USB2 drivers. Just trying to come up with the simple answers...

I am using XP. I've tried on two different computers, one was the updated software, the other was a first time installation....
What is SP2 and USB2 drivers and where can I D/L them?
SP2=Service Pack 2. If you had to install SP2 (meaning the computer didn't come with it pre-installed), you should go to Device Manage, find the USB root hub, and have XP search for new drivers. It should find them (came with SP2) and install automatically.

I've tried the device manager thing. It lists the Mamba Max under the 'other devices' tab.. It will try and search for the software for the device but can't find it. It says the hardware was not installed because the wizzard could not find the correct softwar.
I've tried un-installing 2.23 and installing 2.22 but that hasn't helped.

no, that's not the case. If you installed the software as an admin, you should be capable of using it, unless it's using network sources that are restricted to your account, but that's not the case.
Sounds to me like you need to manually install the driver. What does it say in the system manager when it's installed?
Hang on.. i just looked;
Here; C:\Program Files\Castle Creations\Castle Link
Check the driver uninstall folder, and execute the UninstallWindows2000andXP.bat.
reboot your machine and go to the driverinstall folder. execute preinstaller.exe from here.
if you plug in the MM and it is still looking for drivers search manually and point it to this directory;
C:\Program Files\Castle Creations\Castle Link\DriverInstall
(or update the drivers from the device manager using this 'driverinstall' folder.)
It could be the software on the MM, i've seen simular things happening to USB devices with an error.
But you could always try installing it on another computer before you give up on it.

Got up to there, ran that file and it says "Device Not Found"...
