I have been pulling my kids around lately with my e-maxx. I what to go bl but I am not sure about how pulling something will affect a bl system. I pull them around in a wagon. Someone mention an XL can, but I'm not sure and I don't want to burn something up. It's about 90lbs total. Here is a pic of the most recent pull. Thanks in advance for the help.
Well I guess that this might help: two lehner 2280/11 motors+two 15018 bk controller and you'll be absolutely able to make both the truck and the cart that carries your children go wheelie with out problem.

Are you serious, that's a little over kill isn't it? I'm wanting to pull them in a parade not set a land speed record. You'll notice in the pic the powerwheels motors I'm using will pull them. I just want a little more power and better run time.
He will, just wait until he get's back to the forum.
Dual Lehner 22XX is indeed overkill. You would have to load your trailer with batts. Even one of those monsters is too much for an E-Maxx. With two of those you could sit on the truck :L:
I can imagine your kids love to be pulled around. How about take-off? Do you have traction?
How about braking?
I geared it down pretty low. 11/72. I stiffened the rear end and the take off on asfault is pretty good. Braking is a little tricky. With the first mount(wire ties) I used the braking was better. With the new mount it's still good but I know better than getting them up to high speeds and try to stop on a dime.
I use an AVEOX 3630 for pulling. They seem to have more torque than the Hackers. But really what your doing shouldn't be that hard. Any XL motor should be fine. Adding weight to the truck will really help in pulling. A fan on the speed control would be a good idea.
I was quite joking about the crazy setup, since it will be an overkill for both the truck and your wallet not to mention that the E-maxx can barely contain one of them and not two, but just like Promod said any good XL motor will help along with a cooling fan and reasonable gearing. You might need to modify the tranny gears, for the plastic ones will surely suffer from the excessive amount of pressure.

Gear it really low, and a 10L can already do the job.. You don't need much watts to pull something like that for 2 - 10 mph. you might need a different gearing than the stock 1st though. Or the biggest spur and the smallest pinion you can get..
And perhaps some drivetrain upgrades to make it durable, the stock sliders will get twisted.
I know that you said brushless motor, but have you thought about a BIG drill motor ( 2 X 970). Check out www.kershawdesigns.com , you might change your mind.
If your still looking at a BL motor, the 7XL would have gobs of torque and if geared low enough, should be able to pull quite a bit of weight easily....
You really, really don't need a 7XL to pull something like this. A 10L on 14 cells can handle this with ease... (with the proper gearing) (or you might need helmets and seatbelts for the kids if you use the 2280...)
