Should I try this? HV setup Questions - 10.26.2007, 10:46 PM

I just received a kontronik Jazz 40-10-32

Wanted to try it out in my hyper7 on 7s lipo with an aveox 36/24/3 motor.

Motor is 1300 kv
Batteries are 4000mah maxamps, a 3s and a 4s pack
Controller is good to 10s lipo

Not sure if 40 amps will be enough on power handling by the esc. Motor is rated as 26/40amps on the box, and is similar in size to a feigao L can motor.

I am sure the batteries can keep up, they work fine in my 10th scale setups.

Any info or ideas a re welcome, i know some of you guys have run kontronic and aveox before so let me know what you think.

I ran 36V with my Kontronik 40A controller. It was geared to the moon and it ran good. I ran my BPP truck on grass and the old capacitor blew.

Good to know, I will give it a try. Do you have a link to the programming instructions for the jazz 40?

Try gearing it low at first and monitor temps. If the esc is running fairly cool, then gear it up some.

Is that a Car esc with brakes and reverse?

They have a really good line of ESC's, expensive though.

Keep us posted. I plan to run 10S HV with a Kontronik Jazz too. I didn't know they made a 40-10-32. I'll be using the 55-10-32.

Do you know how many poles your motor is?

Not sure how many pole the aveox motors have. I think they are similar to the Neu motors, as Steve used to work for Aveox.

The Aveox has 4 poles. Look at what Steve Neu said here:
