What Neu Motor for Revo ? - 12.04.2007, 06:34 PM

I just bought the MGM 160 controller and the Neu motors have been out of stock what Neu or Lehner motor do you suggest for a Gorillamax Revo, would like to do 45 if I want but its mainly for bashing, I will use lipos how many cells will I need to run also? When will the Neu's be back in stock? Also do I need to use a fan on the MGM? Thanks

Neu 1515, 1Y, on 4s li-po, that's a beast
No fan at all on the MGM or the motor

Yep, what he said. You should be able to reach 45mph quite easily with the correct gearing on the 1515/1y (2200Kv) on 4s lipo.

The motor depends on the number of cells you want to run. The MGM would be good on 4-6S lipo.

For 4S: 1515/1Y 2200kv: 120A capable lipos needed; ~5000mah 20C cells min
5S: 1515 1700kv; 100A lipos; ~4000 mah 20C cells min
6S 1515 1500kv; 80A lipos; ~3300 mah 20C cells min

All will be strong performers, w/ about the same power output. The 6S/1500kv would be the coolest running, and likely the most powerful as the motor efficiency is highest, and would give a little bit more rpms, and could be tolerably geared the highest.

Finding chargers & balancers capable of 6S packs is a bit more tricky than 5S and below however. So a 4 or 5S setup is most convenient. The above recc packs will all give approx same runtime, and all are ~500g. Add more mah if you don't mind the weight for more runtime.

The boss setup would be 1500kv on 6S, and a NeuEnergy 3200 6S pack (500g), or a 3900mah pack @ 600g for the longest runtime. If you want crazy speeds (breaking 50mph) the 1700kv motor w/ the 3900mah pack would so it, but all will do mid 40s easy.

Its my understanding that Neu is selling motors as fast as they can make them. Leadtime is 4-6 weeks. Instead of waiting for stock, I would order the motor I want and wait. Perhaps if Mike already has that one ordered you'll get it a bit faster and it would be reserved for you. Mike can also get any other Neu lipo packs that may not be listed on the site.

I run the 1515/2.5d/f on 5s and its an animal, running 5s and a 20/51 (mod1) its running about 40 and never gets warm

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise
