When you say one battery, do you mean a single 4s lipo?
Without using the built-in bec, you will have to use an rx pack or UBEC- leave the esc turned off when you plug in the batts, and that will take the load off of the built in bec.  pretend there is only a single BL motor, ignore the lvc if you have one of the newer hvmaxxes. |
