Low esr for a few reasons, but mainly because they have have low internal resistance, so they wont heat up as much, and can deliver their load more quickly when required, or something along those lines (where's Brian when you need him?).

85*C should be okay, thats still pretty damn hot and you wont likely heat them up that much under most normal circumstances. At worst, they will go pop and you'll have to get some different ones, but its probably worth trying them at anyrate.
