when you say germans, we have a company called "flyware" here in germany, which produce industrial Brushless motors as well as for hobby use. they are pretty popular at the heli and raceboat guys.

and they have up to 8 poles, like the max650 shark20. the big graupner inline 700 (for boat use) used to be a flyware. and they're not expensive, and known to have good efficiency. I will buy one i guess.

4 or 8 poles are great for car use due to the torque, as the motors are often used in "not-full-throttle", and therefore the 2 pole motors are not so good as they tend to get hot. the only problem could be with the esc, as 8 poles mean more work for the esc then 2 pole.

but, the flyware's are not as good looking as some of the chinese ones. but they work well.

maybe you ask them.
