Funny, I shipped my 2 2s 8k lipos back to Maxamps last Monday and I got my replacements today. Pretty good turnaround time, I shipped my MMM in on the same day and I probably won't see that again until June
EDIT: I should mention that both packs were out of balance when they got here...brand new and they can't even stay in balance.
All I ever wanted was an honest weeks pay for an honest days work.

I'm surprised MA hasn't offshored their support- that's what every other co does when they don't want to deal with the customer after the sale. They'll get annoyed and give up...
That line from a chat earlier in the thread cracks me up- made FRESH baby- yes that should be worth at least a 30% premium... picture it, iceberg lettuce falling onto your pack, with some other tantalizing garnishes.... mmmm I can taste the freshness right now!
And I know their Pack Assembly Technicians (temps) are wearing gloves and performing their duties with the utmost pride (drooling with their face in rosin core smoke)
Spy, as for your brand new out-of-balance packs, they'll probably say you live in a region known for electromagnetic anomalies, or that a hitherto unknown pole shift has occurred and you are probably overgeared.........

I love this thread. Reading the horror stories, reading ANYTHING about Jason, cringing about the poor (that is, poor after buying MA packs) newbies who got f---ed in the wallet. This thread has everything! Drama, comedy, tragedy. What more can you ask for? :D

This reminds me of the fourth of july a couple years ago. I was on a dock with some buddies shooting off those big ass bottle rockets. The ones that are like 3 feet long... Anyway I shot one off and watch it blow up then I start walking back. The bottle rocket landed on my shoulder. Almost made me fall off the dock...
Good times. The 4th is my favorite holiday. Anyone doing anythink with the 4th and maxamps??

My friends and I make a trip out to the desert every once in a while. One of my friends shoots off model rockets, I drive my RC's, and the other ones just chill and watch us. We also usually cart a laptop out there to watch a movie on, and the plan this year is to bring a small TV with an Xbox or PS3 and run it off a (powerful) inverter hooked up to my truck. We also bring a second car and jumper cables, so no worries about draining out the battery).
The biggest point of the trip is just to be a bunch of guys 5+ miles from any type of thing that represents civilization (and usually the only people at all within a 5 mile radius). We still get cell reception out there though so its not like we go off the face of the planet into a 3rd dimension.
Anyway, since it is a dry lake and all and there are no plants and therefore nothing to catch fire, we were thinking of pitching in to buy a lipo and wire it to create a little show in a cheap model rocket after it takes off (aka, short the lipo and then shoot the rocket off right away).
We were going to do maxamps but even their small stuff is super expensive, so I found some really cheap FlightPower packs, but couldn't bring myself to buy such great packs to just destroy them. Looks like we are saving up for the maxamps ones.
BL Revo: CF G2R, LMT1940/7, 6S FP 30C Lipos, MMM, Hitec 5955TG
CRT .5: 7075 Ext Chassis, LMT1930/7, FP 25C 3S Lipos, MM

Unless you think smoke is cool, I would not waste your time. Newer lipos will not do much more than smoke when you short them. It would be better to fill the rocket up with black powder... Or a mixture of gas and styrofoam.... Just do not stand under it when it goes off.

I'm sure there's stuff made for this too. Check online or in the rocket section at your lhs.
