will cutting of the switch void a warranty claim?!?!? One of my v1 just stopped working no smoke nothing, thinking it might be the switch.. Is there another way to figure this out with out cutting it off?
I was told it does not void the warranty as long as I didn't open it up. I cut the wire about 1 inch from the case.

Soldering to the circuit board will void warranty.

I like using a switch so in order to use the stock one as long as possible, this is what I did. Up to now, it has been good. If it ever starts to act funny on me I will replace with a better switch like Brian has. But it just keeps on working fine the way it is now.
First I wrap it to keep the dust out.
Then I made this thing out of a piece of scrap Lexan to keep the switch from getting to the OFF position by itself.. A trick from Joel ''Magic'' Johnson back in the 90s.
