as for big blocks all i have is a wasp .28. i have heard good things about them such as them being great and very fast but thats mostly from bashers with them in a savage. im looking for more of a race motor. something with good low end torque but good top end as well which isnt really easy to find without trial and error. im thinking for the money ($169) the picco .27 werks would be a great motor. especially if send to eb mods.

Why not put the motor in and run it? Maybe get the feel of it so you can tell if it is better or worse than others. Unless you got plans for it in another rc.

well actually right now i need to get a pullstarter for it because the original broke, then i bought a starterbox, well come to find out it wont fit through the hole in the chassis to get to the flywheel so now i have to return the starterbox, get a pullstarter, finish breaking it in and then i have a odd feeling it wont perform to my liking. but thats just a feeling that hope isnt gonna be a concern after i finish breaking it in. the thing that has me wondering is because most truggies at my track run like 350 dollar motors and then send them to eb mods and i need something for less than 300 after being sent to eb. maybe a little more.

Did you contact eb to see what they say? Maybe they can do stuff to make it run. Just a thought.

I don't go crazy with the nitro motors, squee. I actually ran the HB .26 STOCK motor for over a year(and managed to win quite a bit with it). Driving wins races, not power. I would choose reliability over raw power any day.
Having said that, I ran an Infinity .27 pullstart motor last year and it worked quite well($145 motor), but I think I will go back to my novarossi sbk01 this year(fresh piston and sleave-always loved this motor).
The Picco motors run pretty well also. I don't think you will have any trouble with the wasp motor either(wasp, orion, Infinity=all the same)
Also, if your starter box wouldn't reach the flywheel, it is beacause the HB stock flywheel is too small(I had the same problem), Put an ofna flywheel with a larger diameter and you won't have any trouble. The stock flywheel is too small for just about any starter box to reach.
