And this is the conversion kit I got!
I will have it set up normally for the time being, but I am thinking of taking some measurments, having FLM or Mike make me come custom dogbones, and set it up like the hyper 9, where I move the diff all the way to the back of the chassis. I then should be able to put my MM, aveox motor, servo, and rx on one side, and then possibly fit a horizontally mounted novak tray on the other side, to give me a balanced chassis with a low COG. tell me what you think
EDIT: here is a pic to explain what I am envisioning(I borrowed a pic of MetalMan's chassis):

why cant my electronics come back faster?!? This has been sitting as a roller on my desk, taunting me. Once everything comes back, I will have a little bit of testing to do before I buy some lipos for it. I have 2 motors that I want to try in it, and see how they compare against each other.
I have my aveox 36/15/1.5(3768Kv), which is 36mm x 50mm, and is the same quality as a neu motor. most equivalent to a 1509.
I want to try this on 3s with a 14t pinion.
I also got the last medusa 36-50-3300 in stock from medusa. I plan to try this out on 4s with a 12t pinion.
Both setups are spinning the motors a little under 50,000, and both will yield the same speed, so I am going to see which one performs better, and that will be the motor I keep in the crt.5, and will tell me which of these 2 lipos I should buy.
This 3s Lipo
This 4s Lipo
What are your opinions?

3s with medusa - 4s is for speed runs only...
Lets face it the way you break stuff I'd run 2s - That medusa runs perfect on 2s with a 18t pinion...
PS those batteries are too big... Max 4k 3s IMO or 5k 2s

I wonder that too. is it because of the smaller car as compared to an 8th scale? I run 4s, 5000k in my hyper 7, and I am just making the buggy main at my track. to the point where i am rolling all the jumps on the last lap. Thats why I was looking at the larger packs. also, on a size factor, they all fit in my battery tray. so I know that wouldnt be a problem.
and I have become a much better drier since the last time I have broken anything. the last thing broken was a front shock on the rustler, when ben ran it over. it was fixed in 10 minutes, and anyways, the rustler is gone! the hyper hasnt seen the ER since before i got the new motor mount. and I got a brushed tc4 with drift wheels, running on 6 cells nimh for my gf to use, so she wont break my stuff... the worst she can do with the tc4 is put it into a storm drain.

Too heavy for truck - These things go better with a light battery unless you 1/10th it with mikes chassis...
Ryan uses a 2500 4s pack IIRC
I run with one of the "larger" packs and thats a 2s 5k and 3s 4k hardcases and thats with mike ext chassis
