Thats not overkill.. Our robotics team gets support from Lockheed martin's tech people.. We got the mother of all soldering irons to wire up the bot with some 6 and 8ga wire.. this soldering iron treated them like 20 ga.

It weighs about 5lbs and was wielded like a dagger...
