I need some advice on my xbr sport that went up in smoke. I used the esc with an 8.5 motor without any problems. Today I installed it in my slash to use in brushed mode so I could use the lipo cut-off feature.
After installing the esc I powered it up and started doing the one touch setup procedure. But the moment I pulled the throttle on my transmitter, the esc started smoking like crazy.

Something obviously went wrong.
My question now, is it worth sending it in for repair? And also, should I have done something different? I followed the instruction sheet exactly, and it still happened. Has this happened to anyone else?
