Losi eight shpcks are good but you may have a bit of trouble getting stiff enough springs for them - its easier to go the 8 shocks route verses the 4 eight shocks if you know what I mean

You will have less problems on 4 or 5 cells. If it got hot on the road you should also look at gearing but definately get a higher...

your gearing - are you running on grass?...
